WYD Spain was one of The most amazing, life changing experiences I have ever journeyed. Words don’t even come close in describing the lessons learnt and the journey one experiences during this single week. A week full of youth, laughter, singing, dancing, culture, and the strength and courage shared by millions.

We were at a catechesis session with the Archbishop of New York and as he was talking it dawned on me that God truly loves every one of us.

World Youth Day was a great event to both witness and be part of as thousands of youth were there, just like me with energy and pride in attending a time for Jesus and their faith. I have now found an inside passion for being Catholic and I feel I can stand up with pride to those around me.

I was so inspired by the huge crowds of young people not afraid to show their faith. These days it is very hard to show your faith and not get ridiculed for it and here were one and a half million young people gathered to do just that. We have to express what we believe and not be ashamed of it.
